Chief Tucker began his Fire and Emergency Medical Service career in 1982 in Florida. In 2002 he left Gainesville Fire Rescue, Gainesville, Florida and moved to Alaska where he currently serves as Fire Chief of the City of Kenai Fire Department.
Chief Tucker represents the Alaska Fire Chiefs on Alaska Land Mobile Radio Users Council and Alaska State EMS Training Committee. He is also active with the Kenai Peninsula Fire Chiefs Association and as well as other Fire, EMS, and Community Organizations including the Rotary and the Midnight Sun Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Chief Tucker has an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Florida, an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science from Central Florida Community College, a Bachelors of Science Degree in Fire Service Administration from Western Illinois University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program.
Chief Tucker and his wife Patty have 3 boys Dylan, Garrett, and Alec.
