I began my career as Volunteer Firefighter for the Sunriver Fire Department in 1983.  During my time in Sunriver, I attended Linfield College and received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  In 1995, I received my Paramedic Certification and was hired full time with the Sunriver Fire Department.  I made my way up the ranks and achieved the position of Captain/Training Officer with Sunriver.  In 1997, I was hired as a Firefighter with the City of Bend Fire Department.  I was quickly promoted to Captain and was elected to the Association President for Local #939.  After several years as Captain, I promoted to Battalion Chief.  I recently held the position of Deputy of Chief of Fire Operations.  Presently, my assignment is Deputy Chief of Administration.  Another current duty of mine is the Emergency Manager for the City of Bend.  Presently I am involved in the IAFC, OFCA and Central Oregon Fire Chiefs.  I have been a member of OFIA, Central Oregon Fire Instructors Assoc., Central Oregon Operations Group and IAFF.

I have been married to my wonderful wife Kendra for 22 years and have two fabulous children Brady and Shae.  I enjoy golfing, water sports and hunting.
