Mark brings 33 years of experience and education to the Utah fire service, Mark was employed by the Roy City Fire Department in 1986. Mark Becraft currently serves as the Fire Chief of the North Davis Fire District for the last nine years.

Chief Becraft is a graduate from Weber State University in the paramedicine program, IAFC Chief Executive officer II, Certified Fire Investigator, with numerous education in leadership, Command and Control, Fire Department human resource management, title 17-B state statutes that pertain to Special Service District law. Chief Becraft has received numerous awards from local and state governments for his service throughout his 33-year career including, State of Utah Paramedic of the year, Utah State Firemen’s Association Firefighter of the year. Chief Becraft currently serves as the President on the Utah Association of Special Service District’s board of trustees, he has also served as the president of the Utah State Fire Chief’s Association as well as both Weber and Davis County Fire Officer’s association, etc.

I would like to express how honored I am asked to serve as the WFCA Rep for the Utah State Fire Chief’s Association, and ensure you that myself, the USFCA executive staff, will continue to participate in the Western Fire Chief’s Association as well as the IAFC.

It is our goal to ensure that ALL fire agencies, rural, urban, volunteer, full-time, or any combination are represented legislatively and have fair non-biased representation for some of their local needs. It is my goal to continue to provide quality leadership training annually to all that attend our annual leadership Training.

It is my opinion throughout my career that we all tend to become complacent and forget what is important. “where we came from, why we got in this business in the first place “I once had a very influential Chief (Noel Padden) say that the “Bread and Butter Basic’s” firefighting operations are really what our firefighters are doing every day. It is our job to lead by example and re-enforce the values and commitment we have to our families, each other, and our communities. The USFCA executive committee understands the complexity and dynamics of a very diverse population that Utah fire departments serve. We are proud and committed to ensure the delivery of quality of fire and ems service to the state of Utah.

Respectfully

Chief Becraft
