I would like to express how honored I am asked to serve as the WFCA Rep for the Utah State Fire Chief’s Association, and ensure you that myself, the USFCA executive staff, will continue to participate in the Western Fire Chief’s Association as well as the IAFC.
It is our goal to ensure that ALL fire agencies, rural, urban, volunteer, full-time, or any combination are represented legislatively and have fair non-biased representation for some of their local needs. It is my goal to continue to provide quality leadership training annually to all that attend our annual leadership Training.
It is my opinion throughout my career that we all tend to become complacent and forget what is important. “where we came from, why we got in this business in the first place “I once had a very influential Chief (Noel Padden) say that the “Bread and Butter Basic’s” firefighting operations are really what our firefighters are doing every day. It is our job to lead by example and re-enforce the values and commitment we have to our families, each other, and our communities. The USFCA executive committee understands the complexity and dynamics of a very diverse population that Utah fire departments serve. We are proud and committed to ensure the delivery of quality of fire and ems service to the state of Utah.
