WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION’S PRIVACY POLICY

Effective: November 23, 2016
Privacy and security policy
This policy discloses the privacy practices for WFCA (Western Fire Chiefs Association, INC. and our affiliates). This Privacy Policy applies both to our websites (Websites), including www.wfca.com, and our mobile applications (Mobile Apps). By using the Websites or the Mobile Apps, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the data practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not use the Websites or the Mobile Apps.

We periodically update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page and Website users agree to the changes by your continued use of the Website. If you have any questions about WFCA privacy practices, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected]

What type of information does WFCA collect about their users and how do they use the information?
If you use the Websites, we use a feature called a “cookie” to track traffic patterns and usage of our sites. The cookies contain information which tells us the type of web browser used, web site pages viewed, and frequency of visiting the web site.

If you use the Websites to send us information (for example, sending WFCA a contact form), we collect information about you necessary to support that service. This information includes personally identifiable information such as your name, e-mail address or other contact information to enable us to follow up with you as needed.
If you subscribe to a newsletter or news alert service, we collect your e-mail address in order to provide that service to you.

When you use our Mobile Apps, we use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our Mobile Apps on your mobile device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. In addition to information we collect on our Websites, when you use our Mobile Apps we may also collect your city location, device model and version, device identifier (or “UDID”), and OS version.
We send push notifications from time to time in order to update you. If you no longer wish to receive such communications, you may turn them off at the device level.

With whom does WFCA share the information they collect from their users?
We use statistical analysis of user behavior to analyze usage of our Websites and to develop summary – not individual – reports to inform our advertisers of levels of interest in various areas of our sites and how many users have seen or “clicked” their advertisements. We only disclose information in aggregate form to third parties in such reports.
We may also release personally identifiable information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with applicable laws and government requests, to operate our systems properly or to protect our systems or our users.
We will not sell your personal information to any third party.

What security measures does WFCA perform to protect the privacy of personal information received from its users?
We will take all reasonable steps to safeguard personal information that you provide to us.
